On a whim we had decided to look into the possibility of adopting another
dog to give our dog "Shadow" company. Shadow was down in the dumps because our older dog "Whizer" had died. Shadow
now had little energy and seemed depressed.
We fell in love with a 5 month old puppy called "Duffy." He seemed
to respond to us very well and we felt very comfortable with him. The next day we were called and brought our dog
Shadow to meet Duffy. They seemed to get along very well. Our daughter and future son-in-law also came to meet
him. They fell in love with him also.
Duffy ( Stafford Terrier mix) now "Patches" is a wonderful addition
to our family. We have had so many friends and neighbors come to visit and watch the antics! He is certainly full
of energy and lots of fun for us, as well as Shadow. In fact it is common for Patches to walk across our frozen
pool with his toys, etc. while playing with Shadow. The last snowstorm it was so funny watching him prancing in the
new snowfall which was up to his tummy. All of a sudden a very strong wind gust whipped snow all over him and he bounced
quickly to emerge out of the snowdrift and back to the porch and inside for safety.
His latest habit is dropping his lower lip when he is listening to us talk
to him. We have dubbed him "lippy" or "denture face"!!!! He also loves watching TV and reacting to any animal
sounds that he hears during commercials, etc.
We want to tell you that we were very impressed with the thorough process
and certainly so [pleased that we became the adoptive family! We want to again thank you all for this most pleasant
experience!
